Fictional feature film
"Genio," a man from Srednje, is a farmhand who earns his keep through ungrateful toil, receiving little more than bread and a place to sleep from his master. His story was first captured in the early 1960s by a young filmmaker, resulting in a full-length film that blends documentary and fiction—arguably the first feature film from the Natisone Valleys.
This work portrays a vanished agrarian past and a village community, serving as both a rare ethnographic document and a tale of profound humanity. The restored edition offers a new montage of the original 8mm footage, complemented by an entirely new sound design, breathing fresh life into this historical narrative.
Directed by: Paolo Rojatti (New edition: Alvaro Petricig)
