The Night of Short Films in Trieste
December 21, 2024, 19:30, Teatro Miela, Trieste
On the winter solstice and the shortest day of the year, December 21, 2024, the The Night of Short Films will take place across Slovenia and once again across borders. The event is dedicated to the diversity and quality of short films. For the second time, Kinoatelje is joining this nationwide initiative and is expanding it to Teatro Miela in Trieste, where a special program for adults will be presented. The event is organized in the spirit of the cross-border film festival Tribute to a Vision and in anticipation of the upcoming European Capital of Culture GO! 2025.
The initiators and main co-organizers of the nationwide event are the FeKK and the Kino Otok – Isola Cinema festival with its short film section Video on the Beach. The international ShorTS film festival from Trieste is also joining the cross-border Trieste event, along with the Slovenian Club.
After the screenings, there will be discussions with the filmmakers, including Simon Intihar, Karin Likar, Miha Možina, and Hannah Koselj Marušič.
The program Short Films for the Longest Night brings the following selection to Teatro Miela:

This year, The Night of Short Films presents four thematic categories: for children, youth, and adult audiences. The D’SAF! (Slovenian Animated Film Society) joins the event for the first time, bringing animated films for children and young audiences.
As usual, The Night of Short Films will take place in over ten cinemas across Slovenia, including the Nova Gorica Arts Centre and the Slovenian Cinematheque in Ljubljana. The screenings are free of charge, and details about the programs are available on the websites of individual cinemas.
