Big Screens: Cinema in Gorizia
From Jesuit experiments in Piazza Grande and early screenings in beer gardens to the city’s first cinemas, this walk traces the evolution of film culture in Gorizia. It explores how cinema adapted during wartime and how it regained its place in post-war life, offering a unique perspective on the city.
The walk will kick off the rich open-air film season of Itinerante Cinema Isonzo – Kino Soča, which will stop at Parco Basaglia in Gorizia on June 13th, 14th, and 15th.
June 14th at 6:30 PM (in Italian and Slovene) – starting point: BorGO Cinema, Raštel 57

More about the walk:
The history of Gorizia and its cinemas is so captivating that Kinoatelje, as part of the Nostro cine quotidiano project, has dedicated an entire walk to it.
