Synopsis:
Minor Apocalyse is neither a traditional documentary nor a work of fiction. Paradoxically, it could be described as a "fantasy documentary," as it draws from a story that truly happened: the death of a village. Čišnje was (or rather, used to be) a small village in the Natisone Valleys. Like many other mountainous or remote areas, it was condemned to abandonment and decay by the economic logic of modern life. Its definitive abandonment came after the 1976 earthquake, when the remaining residents were offered relocation to other settlements in the valley as their only option, even though the village itself suffered minimal damage.
Additional Information:
Minor Apocalyse is a part of the DVD collection Triptych, which also includes two other films by Alvaro Petricig: The Steep Time and The Heart of the House.
