Documentary report
Synopsis:
Topolove is a small village in the Veneto region, right by the Slovenian-Italian border. Wars, borders, and industrialization have mostly emptied these areas. At first glance, Topolove seems like a forgotten village, hidden away from the world. However, every summer, this remote place transforms into a center where creators from all over the world gather. The film, made for the 16th anniversary of Postaja Topolove, follows the impressions of artists, organizers, and locals who have not only kept the village alive but have also placed it on the map as an international art destination.
Statement:
"Why Postaja Topolove, if no road leads onward from here? Perhaps because here we can briefly step out of this frantic world, and because the topology of the village's edge allows us to explore that minimal difference between land and landscape, appearance and reality, and art and life, which opens up infinite creative dimensions. Is the name of the village truly a coincidence?"
